.. BELOVED (EPISODE THREE)..
Mr. Brown is a man dark in complexion, average height and a mild build. He wears his glasses with swag, speaks freely and fluent while at it. He works with a humble company as an Engineer and part time as an Architect. He is so good at his job that the company CEO made him the Director, a position attained after years of working with the company, tested and trusted in different areas ranging from representing the company to get contracts, overseeing projects, money management and so on. The best of it all, he is a perfect gentleman.
He was at work doing some finishing touches on a particular drawing when he was called that his wife had been taken to the hospital and she's in labour. He quickly abandoned his pen and other drawing materials, dashed out of the office before he remembered he hadn't informed anyone of his colleagues the reason for leaving the office with so much urgency. So he practically ran back into the office, knocked on the boss' office and in quick words informed him of his wife in the hospital, his boss told him to relax which he could barely do, but allowed him to leave instantly.
As he dashed out of the office, he quickly waved down a taxi and started bargaining, it was when he was about to board that he realised he wasn't with his wallet. Argghhh!! He jumped out again, ran into the office to pick his wallet and did the same out of the office into the waiting cab, while the driver looked on like he was watching a free movie. He told him his destination and they left, the driver moving on a very slow pace, so he urged him to please step on the gas because he had to be at the hospital in time for the birth of his children. The driver responded and stepped on the throttle and gathered a fair momentum. As they took the final turn to set them on the road that leads to the hospital, what happened? There was what you call a hold-up which was moving slowly, but to Mr. Ikotun, he was seeing a traffic jam!!
So he jumped out of the vehicle and started jogging on the culvert when he heard the cab driver scream loud at him that he hasn't paid his fare, so he ran back pulled out his wallet and handed him the bills and forgot to take his change. He kept jogging until he got to the entrance of the hospital stopped a bit to regain his strength and catch his breath, that was when he realized he hadn't collected his change from the cab driver. He looked back at the distance he had covered and knew he couldn't do that jog again or else he would be admitted with his wife in the hospital. He also thought of the possibility that the cab driver would've turned and gone on his way the moment he saw him leave.
After all this he jogged through the entrance of the hospital as fast as he could and asked a nurse at the reception desk where his wife had been admitted. She told him that she had been delivered of a set of twins and been moved to the ward where she's been attended to, but he didn't even wait to hear the rest of the information before he dashed down the corridor as if he's the owner of the hospital knowing the layout of the ground or the wards so as to know the exact room where his wife had been admitted. After going here and there, he got the ward eventually and then realized he wasn't patient enough to listen to the room number because in his mind he had to leave due to past ceremonial blabbings the nurses usually say to delay people from seeing their loved ones. So, what did he do next? Did he get the right room number? How did he respond to his wife? Don't jump before the gun, because you'll be served pretty soon in the upcoming episode..
