... IGNITE THE FUSE?...

Close your eyes and imagine the sunset for a While,

Can you remember those that brought you a Smile?

Shut your lids, think for a short or brief Moment,

Can you relive those with the proper Comments?

We live in a world of struggle and Competition,

Where everyone is trying to create their own Interpretation..

There's a constant toss and shove of who does it Better,

A rendition of music, logic, math skills and more to the Letter..

We seem to make a constant and endless Comparison,

Creating an atmosphere and mix of unhealthy Imperialism..

Many don't stop to think, they don't worry about Questions,

They don't wait to imagine themselves in typical Situations..

Parents sometimes do use words that hurts their Wards,

They say things sometimes that feel like the cuts of Swords..

Some don't know how terrible this breaks their children to Pieces,

They don't see how it affects their sanity, how it destroys their Peace..

Couples do say things that can destroy their Unity,

Words that can break the institution, the sacred Entity..

They expect their partners to fill up some shoes and Spots,

And when they can't, we begin to use expressions that Hurts..

Friendship should be based on a bond that is lasting and Tight,

Should be there for each other, to stand for our truth and Right..

But nowadays, we don't even know who to call our true Friend,

Most of the union we seem to possess, has become a dead End..

Like a Yoruba adage: There's strong Sorry and the other is Mild,

There are words that can make one improve or drive a person Wild..

We just need to find a balance in between the expressions we Use,

Rather than criticize, may we find words that won't Ignite the Fuse..

... Please, may we always Encourage and Support, not Ridicule and Breakdown...
